Spring Practice Tips

This time of year everyone is thinking about the season to come and saying to themselves, "This will be the year!" It can be if you make a good plan and stick to it. Remember, if you keep doing what you've always done, you'll probably get what you’ve always gotten. So the following are a few suggestions to help you get something different this year.

Learn the proper techniques for playing shots from 100 yards and in. Then spend 60% of your practice time working on those shots. You will start saving strokes instead of wasting them from this distance and you will be surprised how this will actually help your long game if you use proper technique.

Purchase a putting track and a digital metronome. Set the metronome around 62-66 beats and work on grooving your stroke while at the same time working on your rhythm. This is easily done at home. Each stroke, no matter the length, should take the same time.

If you find that it’s just too hard to find the time, remember that a little practice is better than none and golf is a game for a lifetime. Keep plugging!
